We are planning or driving cross country from Toronto to Vancouver and want to go through the US. We are going to make our first stop in Chicago but from there we are very interested in some suggestions on places to see along the way. We were planning on taking the Interstate 94 W Also we don't know how realistic it will be to camp but we were thinking of bringing our gear. Has anyone done this? Is it feasible to check in to camp grounds late at night after 10pm? Are there any good national parks that come highly recommended? I have been looking at blogs but haven't found one that is great just yet so if any could be recommended that would be awesome as well. Thanks.
