Hello Everyone! Really excited that I found this site. I've started a blog but I'm not actually going to start traveling until April. My girlfriend and I are setting out for a year adventure. We'll be doing lots of hostels and just trying to experience the local culture wherever we go. I hope to meet some people here as well as learn a few travel tips!

Well, we are looking at buying our tickets in about 2 months so we need to decide soon! We've talked about starting in Prague, but haven't really done any further research into it. Any suggestions?

You cannot leave Europe without visiting Greece too.
The reason is that you will surely regret it when back, thinking that you have missed a great opportunity.

See some photos from Athens as a start right from my address below, and then try to find a beautiful Greek Island. Again you will find ideas from my Greek Island trips in my blogs, and I can give you any further help you might need concerning places to visit when here.

If you want to fly cheaply, enter the site of Easyjet and you will find some great deals.
Unbelievable low prices, especially now that you are planning to book early.

Also try Iberia.
Let me know if you need any further info.

Suggestions on where to start? It depends on where you are leaving from.

We will be leaving from Seattle, Washington. I really would like to do a tour of Europe and then end in Thailand. It's just the starting bit that we are having trouble deciding on.

If I were you, I'd just start wherever it is cheap, since you haven't been to Europe before. Plug some dates and places into a flight aggregator... (like tripadvisor.com/flights) and see what you get!

If it was me though, I'd start in Portugal and work eastwards, since I haven't been to Portugal or Spain before, but you'll probably find that a flight to London or Frankfurt is the cheapest.

Ah yess Greece!!! I love it!
Especially Santorini - it is a greek island, I can say a miracle! You should visit it by all means!
The prices there are high, so I wouldn't recommend you to stay there. Here's what you can do. You can stay on the Crete island - it is a good one too - and take an excursion to Santorini on a boat. Or you can just buy a ticket on the boat to Santorini so that you wouldn't depend on the guide and the rest of the group))
