I was in Turkey this past May and I loved it. I spent the majority of my trip in the south along the Turquoise Coast. Also known as the Turkish Riviera. One great place to stay is Antalya. It sits right on the coast so while its great for those who want to go to the beach it also has an older section, which is still perfectly intact, where you can wander aimless behind the fortified walls. Great seafood dishes and of course as everywhere in Turkey excellent shopping and nightlife. Southern Turkey definitely goes on my "Top Ten Regions to Pass Some Time" list.

Yes, gyl.johnson, It's a lovely area and the coast road heading towards Antalya from the west is SPECTACULAR. One of my favourite journeys ever!
