Very cool!
Woman's Day (of all places) has a bunch of examples of really pretty currency from around the world. Which ones have you seen before?

Are any missing?

I like the Cook Islands the best:

What beautiful banknotes. Makes the greenback look really dowdy. Canadian banknotes are pretty colourful too.

The Cook Islands note has something for everyone. A voluptuous nude Ina on one side, and a well-hung god Te-Rongo on the other. However can they say this currency is slowly falling out of favour. It should be the most popular of the lot!

Iceland and Hungary's bills are creepy and cool. Also switzerlands old coins (not euro) are very well done. And Speaking of which, I think the Euro itself is a fairly beautiful currency!

I liked that the South African Rand had one of the Big Five on each of their notes. Very cool.

I love Aussie notes for the fact you can tell the difference between their totally different colours. And they're plastic so you can put them in the wash and they survive (or in my case my pocket and I go swimming or something) lol.

Yeah but most of them don't look like that. Most are filthy and barely identifiable. I used a cash machine and was given 2000rps notes. The guesthouse owner had never seen one before!!

What a fun topic. I always enjoy seeing different banknotes and coins...

My favorite from the list was the Antarctica Dollar. I had no idea they had their own money!

So cool. speak_cool.gif

I remember getting a 50 guilder bill from an ATM in Amsterdam, in 1989. That was the most beautiful looking money I ever held.

Yup! That's the one.

It's non legal tender now, since the Euro has taken its place. But back then, the Euro did not exist yet.

I think collecting money from other countries is one of the coolest hobbies you can have. My 22 year old son collects money from around the world, coins as well as bank notes. Its just a beautiful collection. He was getting bank notes sent to him on approval by a dealer in boston, I don't knw if he has kept it up or not.
