Hi guys
I'm just wondering if anyone knows how much it costs for for certain things in Athens?? I'm going for 2 weeks in august as a 'cheap' alternative to Mykonos but am now not sure how much cheaper it might turn out to be??!!
Things like a large beer and meal out for two would be good as a starting point please...

I just moved this to the Greece category. Paroshep, our Greek Local Expert will be able to help you soon.

In the meantime, I see some ideas of where to shop in Virtual Tourist's Athens section: http://www.virtualtourist.com/travel/Europ...ens-TG-C-1.html

Athens as an alternative to Mykonos? I can't see there is any comparison at all, except that they are both in Greece. It's saying I like cheese, but can't afford it so I'll eat rice instead.

If you want to stay on the mainland and looking for something vaguely similar to Mykonos, I suggest you look at Nafplion, also spelt Náfplio.

2 weeks at the intercontinental hardly seems like a holiday that could be compared to 'rice'

You call two weeks at the Intercontinental "a 'cheap' alternative to Mykonos"? We obviously live in different worlds. Sorry I took up your time.

Tennis, I think that mmbcross was just trying to help you out. He didn't mean to insult you, right Martin?

I should have compared apples to oranges. This comparison cannot be mistaken for social profiling. Thanks for your kind words, chaps.
