I've been to the salt museum- it's interesting for about 2 minutes, then it's insanely boring a place.

Where I used to live in Southport there was a lawnmower museum biggrin.gif

Ha ha, this reminded me of my trip to the Chair Museum in High Wycombe, England. Riveting.

The High Wycombe football team are nicknamed the Chairboys too apparently

The wackiest museum I've been to is the Sex Museum in Prague. Sounds quite similar to the one in Amsterdam someone described in this thread. They had all the sickest and weirdest things related to history of sex. It was surely interesting!

Another quite wacky museum was the Torture Museum in Amsterdam.

One more worth of mentioning - China House Museum in Tianjin, China. What was interesting was the actual museum building: it was cover with 700 million pieces of antique porcelain, even the toilets were covered with porcelain pieces. It was really interesting. Google it!

In Ellsworth, Maine they have the telephone museum, but the strangest that I have been in was in Belfast, Maine, in a place called PERY'S NUTHOUSE. They bragged that they had the world's largest collection of nuts. Not a museum in the truest sense, but still, there was no denying that they knew their nuts.
The main part of the building was to sell stuff, and they had alot of stuff. Upstairs they had another strange museum thingy, real animal collection, with animals from all around the world. Of course, the animals were not living, but it was interesting.
And you could buy a local paper with your photo on the front page, with large letters reading, (your name) just escaped from Perry's nut house. It was a crazy place, years ago.
They went under, and I heard all those nuts ended up going off in different directions to different buyers at an auction. Then several years ago, a new owner bought the old building, put the PERRY'S NUT HOUSE sign back up, and is attempting to reinvent the place. I heard he's even brought in a bunch of nuts, but I doubt its as nutty as the original.
And yes, this place did and does exsist.

Oooh, interesting! I was wondering why that would be, when Alexander Graham Bell was a Scottish inventor, but I just googled it and see he was living that way when he invented it, so that'll be why there's a telephone museum over there then. Learn something new every day!

Wow...a torture museum, I'm beginning to think they have a museum for just about everything. But that really does sound interesting...if I ever get to Amsterdam, I am definately going to check that one out.

I think it goes round their neck and their fingers are shackled to it, as if they were going to play it. They had heaps of ridiculous implements in the museum. it was great!

The wackiest one I've been to is the Dog Collar Museum at Leeds Castle in Kent, England:
