This was inspired by the where were you born post on the introduce yourself forum.

I thought it would be interesting to see the furthest distance everyone has traveled from the location they consider to be home. You can use sites like: http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/distance.html or http://www.daftlogic.com/projects-google-m...-calculator.htm to find out.

If you think a few cities are close for that distinction you might want to try them to see which is furthest.

My furthest distance is Dayton, Ohio to Rome, Italy: 7687 kilometers (4776 miles). This August I will be even further at Abu Simbel, Egypt: 10442 kilometers (6488 miles).

Playing with the second link I also have found out that the furthest major city away from me is Perth, Australia at 18,030 kilometers (11203 miles)

Only a few lucky people can visit their exact antipode [otherside of the world] but I bet a lot of people on here got pretty close.
