Yes Derrick you are right. It depends a lot on where you are and the type of connection you have. For me, honestly speaking I find TravelPod blog website the best. I tried with google years back, and Lonely Planet but I am here to stay.
Now what do each one of us wants,... well I guess I know what I want. I want a secure and popular at the same time blog where I can post everything, download my photos and be sure that the blogs will never been lost. I have the chance to communicate with lots and lots of people, friends, relatives and even unkown people and this is fun. Now, where I can help (forums) I do try to help other people, probably new members or I help if I am asked a question about a destination I know well. I want the travel blog website to be live. Of course there were better days in the past but its probably a bit different now with the crisis all over. I guess there are fewer trips from many lately, and people who were out in the forums are now seen more scarcely, although they drop by from time to time. Each one carries a cross, and who knows how everyone is coping! Because I don't have neither an iPad, or a note/net book, I use only my PC and laptop. As for your last question, well it always depends on the time you have when on a trip. I seldom keep notes, but I remember everything the moment I am downloading the photos. Usually when I am out on a 2 week trip I don't want to spoil my time in writing. I only do it when I have nothing else to do, sometimes when I expect somebody to pick me up and there is a delay. Generally I don't have time to write when I am out. What I can do is to have a look on the photos and delete the ones that are not good, and I put them in different envelopes. This saves me much time when the time comes to write down everything. This is done mostly when I am in a coach moving on to a different destination. I hope this helps!
