YOUTH CARD INFORMATION

The EURO<26 youth card is available to all young people aged under 26. And the good news is that the following countries raised or are about to raise the age limit for cardholders up to 30 years of age: Andorra, Armenia, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, The Czech Republic, Estonia, Finland (from 2009), Georgia, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy (from 2009), Malta (from 2009), The Netherlands, Poland (from 2009), Romania, Russia, San Marino, Serbia, Slovenia (from 2009), Switzerland, Ukraine and Wales (from 2009). For details please check the national web pages. The card is valid for one year and can be renewed each year until you reach the age of 26 (or 30, depending on the issuing country).

You don’t have to be a student, you don’t even have to be a European citizen – you only have to be prepared for hundreds and thousands of discounts and benefits!

The card is issued in 41 European countries. Wherever the card is issued, it carries the EURO<26 logo, which is used to mark the places offering advantages and discounts

. There are 100.000 reasons to carry a EURO<26 card, including:

- Culture: theatres, cinemas, concerts, museums, festivals, events
- Transport: buses, trains, ferries, air travel
- Travel: accommodation, holiday-trips, language courses
- Shops: CD's, books, fashion, sports gear... and lots more!
- Services: insurance, travel assistance, help lines, press subscriptions, pre-booking of tickets to cultural events...
Select your country from the list above to find out more!
In general, you will need the following:
• a passport-sized photo
• proof of age (passport, official ID, etc)
• card fee (this varies according to region)
You can use the card immediately, as the places offering reductions all display the EURO<26 logo. If in doubt, show your card and you will get help or advice! For more information, contact your national or regional EURO<26 organisation.

That is a GREAT opportunity for students on "gap year" trips, or even just on their summer off, thanks for sharing.
