Finally. At long last. I'm mentally prepared to begin making arrangements for my trip to Uzbekistan and all of the five stans. It took me awhile because some of my "friends" have told me some unsavory stories about this region. But I really wanted to see this region for myself, and the blogs on this website were very encouraging! So I made a list of my preferences in terms of travel experiences and i contacted some agencies. Silk Road tours and another, I think advantour or something similar, but they never returned my calls. Bad start. Then i stumbled across Eat-Site Travel on the internet. Much better. Very friendly, very informative, and apparently they will handle the whole shebang from visas to currency to board and meals. Perfect. I told them some of the places I wanted to see, they gave me some additional suggestions, and offered to customize the tour package for me. They returned my calls. So I think i will be smart to work with them on this adventure. I want to try to keep a detailed log so this is my first entry. I feel like I have moved from interested but a little put-off, to interested and real excited. That's why I say I'm finally mentally prepared. And so it begins.

By the way, that's East-Site Travel---by mistake I said Eat- site. Talked to them again today and everything is now in the works. I'm really going to do this!
