Well it's not that shocking really. In German Prostitution is legal and taxed. It's accepted culturally for someone to be a prostitute. If you bear that in mind you can see the scenario along the lines of- girl starts off her new career with a big earner. The unprotected part well there's talk of a medical so i'm guessing both are checked for STD's so there's nothing that shocking about that. Onto the flip side of the man paying to take her virginity. This is actually a rather old notion, it has a lot of basis in religion and law (see braveheart). It's also a very common thing in Japan and also in relation to arranged marriages. I do actually find it a bit weird - but at same time it's not 'that' weird. I do wonder where she held auction- don't think ebay rules allow it

But I do think that, for such a young girl, it is just too bad that there's no other way to put herself through school other than selling herself off.
