Hi everyone,

I'm flying to Melbourne next month (middle to end of feb) and am starting to get pre-trip nerves! I've never travelled alone before and am pretty anxious about meeting people/ finding somewhere to live/ finding a job etc and was wondering if anyone had any advice? Am looking at flying into Melbourne then travelling north up Australia.

Relax Claire we are not head hunters, you don't say how long you are here in the colonies, but i can assure you we are friendly, an backpackers are a good way to start plus if you are looking for a job then make sure you have the right visa check out the Australian gov web site re working visa's as at the moment there is a bit of a kerfuffle going on over illegal workers, so you will be landing in our start of autumn so pleasant weather all round should be on the cards. Enjoy your time here in OZ
