I'm helping my sister plan a trip for her & her husband to see the aurora borealis this spring. She wants a place easy to reach from Central California, no package tours, & in February or March.
So far my internet research has turned up:
December to March in Fairbanks.
mid-November to mid-April in Yellowknife.
September to mid-April in Whitehorse.
There's good viewing in Minnesota but I can't find any best times for it.
I'd appreciate any info from experienced aurora-viewers.
