Xingping really has no nightlife except for the community bar-b-que on the Main street. Most of the old town closes down by 8pm. Which for those who are tired of the noise and traffic of Yangshuo's West Street or Guilin big city hassle. Xingping is busy during the day. There are a few old streets left where you can wonder in peace and see the architecture as it was 100 years ago. You can walk along the river and see many of the locals private gardens. It is starting to become discovered so hurry. There are now a few hotels. One family hotel that I stayed at was new with a real country inn feeling. Downstairs is a cafe and bar with computer and pool table upstairs there are only 4 or 5 rooms for rent. Most with great view of the mountains. It is located on the Old street so it is close to the river and easy to find the boats to the famous fishing villages that have been visited by many famous people. Also close to where you can catch the bamboo rafts and go up and down the Li River and see the famous mountain of guilin. It is here in Xingping where if you look at the back of a 20 yuan chinese money you will see that famous seen. See it and stay before everyone else has.
