Newbie Group: Members Posts: 1 Joined: 19-September 11 Member No.: 2269863 Nominate me as a Local Expert	I am planning to visit Kaikoura from Christchurch & would like to know if its better to self-drive or take the scenic train. Next question is if I do decide to take the train could I get away without pre-booking until I reach Auckland on 13 Oct? I plan to visit Kaikoura from Christchurch on 18 Oct. Thanks!

Take the train and set back and relax. You do not need to book until you get here even the day befor eis okay.
