What's in Atacama? I've never heard of it.

The driest and most beautiful desert in the world. So much to see and do: moon valley, geysers, thermal waters, etc.

Woh!! The second picture is really unusual...in the middle of the desert!
The first it looks as if the rock is going to fall if you move a bit further, but it's lovely too.
Can't wait to hear about your trip, and see more photos!

Yes, I'd definitely want to go back. I've also been to Guatemala twice and want to go back. :-)

Have you been to Mexico City before? I'd say go there before any other place in Mexico, it's definitely an INCREDIBLE, AMAZING place.

I just met a guy from there. Sounds crazy alright! Maybe don't drive anything.
Definitely would be fun to visit though.

Yeah, I've been to all the places I mentioned there and a few other cities in Mexico. I love them all, what's great about central and southern Mexico (I'm not as much of a fan of the north) is that almost every city is amazing and they're all so unique. If you have to choose a single city in Mexico to go to yeah, definitely go with D.F. but I would recommend any of the other 5 I mentioned to anyone just as readily.

Finally, I want to travel to Mexico and a few cities in the USA next year.
I wonder what the best season for someone visiting Mexico is!

And of course New Zealand....but it is really too far. (Who knows- if I keep it in my mind all the time and think positive ) !!! I might have the chance to visit some day!

How far is it from Santiago and is it easy to get there from Santiago?

If I remember correctly, it's a 2-3 hour direct flight from Santiago. I took a cheap local flight that landed in Calama, which is less than an hour from Atacama. It's easy to get from Calama to Atacama via bus, shuttle, etc. There's also a bus that goes North from Santiago, but I don't remember how long the bus ride is. It's very easy to get there.
