is it easy to catch a train from Schippol airport, and how often do they run?

Basically every 15 minutes, but there's no direct connection. You'll have to transfer at Rotterdam.

To check which times the train leaves and at which platforms to transfer, go to NS.nl.

Simply fill in your 'vertrek' station (departure station, so Schiphol). Destination station (naar). Add the times you'll be wanting to leave from Schiphol and the dates and it should show everything to you so you can plan your trip accordingly.
