Newbie Group: Members Posts: 1 Joined: 10-August 11 Member No.: 2180833 Nominate me as a Local Expert	I will travel to Iran as an independent traveler but it seems I have to be on a tour to go to Iran. Is there any way to do this independently?

You should contact an Iran-based tour operator to apply for your invitation letter which takes about 2 months to get response from the MFA. That particular company should provide you with all the other services as tour guide and accommodation.

Everything is at your own risk. [/quote] Actually, it is only the American citizens who have to take part in a guided tour. The UK citizens don't need to have any escorted tour to Iran. They should apply for the Iranian visa through an Iran-based tour operator and in about a month their visa reference number will be ready to be collected at an Iran embassy. As soon as collecting visa, they can independently travel to Iran. While you are in Iran, you can find daily some hours free to explore the city.
