People in the Southern United States...Alabama, Mississippi, Georgia...those are all great laid back places to sit on a front porch with friends with the warm summer breeze blowing, crickets chirping and just talk and sip on a lemonade (or for me, a SoCo and sours)
--------------------
Currently traveling the world for work...with a few extra fiddleybits thrown in to keep it new...it's the cheapest way to go!!! Quote from my friend Chuck, who spent 5 months riding his bicycle all the way around the USA - "Nobody says you have to order an entree in the restaurant of life, you'll only be here once! Order the sampler, try as many as you can before you're full; odds are one (of) the items on this menu does more for you than you ever thought. And if I'm wrong, tell the waiter that his menu sucks, throw the cook aside and invent your own masterpiece. Just pour 'em all in, all your favorite ingredients. With enough imagination, any combination will work -- there are no recipes for the paths still awaiting discovery." QUOTE(semi-backpacker @ Apr 19 2009, 07:31 PM) I've never been to Jamaica, but there's too much going on with the weed/mj and the partying (based on stories I've heard) to be a real relaxing/chill destination. But in the Caribbean, I can vouch for Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Bahamas, St. Thomas...sorry to hear about your mom's experience, hopefully she will give other places in the Caribbean a try!
Yeah, she did say everyone was pefectly nice in the rest of the Caribbean... thats why she thought it was so odd!

QUOTE(kamyp @ Apr 21 2009, 04:31 PM) I haven't travelled as much as most but I like Brazilians. Probably a personal bias, since it was my first trip as an adult outside my country's borders.... The Brazilians are very cool, but they're definitely not laid back and peaceful. They love to party!
