I read that its possible to get Visas upon entering at the airports although not having a letter of invitation..
Does anyone know if it’s true? Because I’m having little luck verifying this on the Internet and I’m already a far way from home (Samara Russia)

What country are you a citizen of? (this may be important for visa purposes). Here is the E-mail of Tajik Embassy in Moscow: embassy_moscow@tajikistan.ru
I failed to find any E-mail of Uzbek embassy, suppose it does not exist. Anyway, I can call to both embassies for you, but I need your nationality.

Welcome to TravelPod hanhendrix...

You mentioned that you're from Samara Russia...so then Item 1 in starlagurl's reply would apply to you.

For anyone from the US, I just researched on the State Department website and found:

For Kyrgyzstan, you can obtain a visa on arrival at the airport.

For Tajikistan, you have to obtain the visa before traveling (because we have a Tajik embassy in the US)

For Uzbekistan, you have to obtain the visa before traveling.

--------------------
Currently traveling the world for work...with a few extra fiddleybits thrown in to keep it new...it's the cheapest way to go!!!

Quote from my friend Chuck, who spent 5 months riding his bicycle all the way around the USA - "Nobody says you have to order an entree in the restaurant of life, you'll only be here once! Order the sampler, try as many as you can before you're full; odds are one (of) the items on this menu does more for you than you ever thought. And if I'm wrong, tell the waiter that his menu sucks, throw the cook aside and invent your own masterpiece. Just pour 'em all in, all your favorite ingredients. With enough imagination, any combination will work -- there are no recipes for the paths still awaiting discovery."
