hi,
I am on the Bay Islands now and want to travel north to Guatemala. Which border should I cross. I am thinking about going to Livingston or Antigua next.

Thanks for any advises.

I'm kind of confused by your question...Antigua is really far away from Livingston... isn't it?

Maybe decide on where exactly you want to go next and then we can help you better.

Depends where you want to go, Livingston and Rio Dulce or Guatemala City and Antigua. They are in opposite directions.

If you want Livingston, take the Corito road from San Pedro Sula, which will take you to Puerto Barrios. From there take the tiburonera (ferry/launch) across Amatique Bay. There is no road to Livingston. Then take the launch up the Rio Dulce Canyon, which is a national park. From there, it's easy to continue to Tikal and Belize, or take the road to Guatemala City and Antigua.

If you want to go to Antigua without visiting Livingston, take the Copan road from San Pedro Sula. Make sure you visit the stunning archaeological site of Copan on the way.
