Hello!
I'm doing a bit of an epic trip in August/Sept this year and have allowed myself a meagre 7 days in Thailand. I'm flying into Bangkok on a Saturday and need some advice of where the best place to stay is. I have travelled a lot before and prefer to keep away from the main backpacker areas, and would like to get a real feel for Bangkok, rather than just the Kao San Road! I'm happy to pay a little more money for a nice clean and safe hotel/hostel in the city and would really appreciate any recommendations.
Also any recommendations of places to go would be great - I'm planning to visit the weekend market, but any temples or traditional thai places would be right up my street!
I then plan to take the overnight sleeper train down towards phuket, however from reading some of the blogs on this site, phuket sounds like a bit of a resort and I would prefer somewhere a bit more off the beaten track. Some suggest Krabi - any ideas? Also I am considering visiting one of the islands and Ko Yao/Ko Thao/Ko Samui/Ko Pangan - any recommendations or preferences?
I'm going to have to fly from Phuket down to Singapore for my connection on to Perth but would love to cram as much in as possible whilst in Thailand.
Any ideas?
Thanks!
Oh, nice to here that but your plan is in the rainy so I recom you to go to the island in AowThai such as Samui , Pangan or Tao anyway you can go to Phuket and Koh yao but the water is not clear if you wouldn't mind I recom you to Koh Yao to see the local life.
in BKK would you like to stay at Sirom ? I had seen in board the one guest house is very new and clean.
but I can remembered the name right now , give me some time to find it then let you know.
