I'm staying in Tokyo for a month this July, so I have been looking at a lot of short term apartments in the area, and I have been provided with a few really helpful links, but I'm still stuck.

Having never been to Tokyo I just really don't know where to stay. And since I'm there for a month, I don't want to pick the wrong area of town to stay. I have done research and since I want to stay somewhere with some good night life and a lot going on, I have found Shibuya may be my best bet. However Shibuya is a rather large ward and a lot of the apartments I keep finding are in Shibuya but say its like 20 minutes by train to Shibuya station, which looks like where all the action is. Ideally I just kind of wanted to be able to walk to the fun stuff.

So I cant really find many apartments close to the action, so I am kind of looking for suggestions about other apartments in other areas that might fit what I am looking for. Or maybe the apartments I am looking at are really not that far away and I'm just being too picky.

Apparently Roppongi is the place for nightlife as well. Have you checked out that area?

yeah i did look into roppongi but it was like twice as much... but anyway i just decided to drop $1300 on sangenjaya, i decided it looks like a pretty nice place, and not too far from stuff.

$1300 doesn't seem so bad for Tokyo...it's soooo expensive there..

That looks like an alright place... it's pretty small though! I'm assuming you get one of those three in the floorplans...

yeah it is pretty small, but really $1300 is not bad, thats like $40 a night plus i have a kitchen so i will save on food, and since im not far away from stuff i can also save money by not taking the metro every day. and I love privacy, its pretty priceless, so all things considered I think i got a good deal, i suppose it doesnt really matter where i stay in tokyo, at the end of the day im in tokyo and it will be great. I just hope i can find it, the japanese have a funny way of addressing things.

now that im done planning tokyo I can start thinking about indonesia.
