I've been thinking about this movie a lot lately. (Yeah, I finally just watched it...)

I'm wondering what our intrepid Alaskan Local Expert thought about it.

Neal, was the main character adventurous or stupid?

stupid. very stupid. think of the unfortunate incident in Denali recently. go ahead - break the rules. who needs them? well, that unfortunate individual learned why there are rules to stay away from brown(grizzly) bear. you may have heard the story of the of Mr "Supertramp", but most likely not the story of the teacher who was attacked and killed by wolves while on a short hike outside of her small town on the Alaska Peninsula a few years ago. Alaska is full of these type of sad tales. i'm not saying don't come here to Alaska to hike or camp, but if you think dancing in the middle of a busy freeway is just asking for trouble, so is going into the Alaskan or Canadian wilderness completely unprepared. best to know the difference between adventure and just plain foolishness.
