I'm sure this will affect some people.

China has closed Tibet to tourists for the whole month of March. Any permits already issued to tourists will be cancelled.

Or in the tourism industry.

According to the Tibet Tourism Bureau Tibet will be closed beginning in March, but they are not yet saying when it will be reopened. It could be a month, or more.

Head across the Sichuan plateaux through Litang and some other places I can't remember to Zhongdian. It's basically part of old Tibet and probably still open for tourists. I spent quite a bit of time in Yunnan province and it's gorgeous!
