I got sick from (accidently) brushing my teeth with tap water in Cairo, Egypt. (I couldn't ever stomach a banana!)
It made the flight to Luxor a very interesting one but luckily it meant that I didn't miss to many sights because it was a travel day rather than an outing day that I was sick.

When we were on a similar trip to Egypt, Alexandria, Luxor, the whole group got sick but it was not from tap water. It was from the restaurant I think!

I got worse crying_anim02.gif on Mount Sainai in Sharlm el Sheikh and lost 95% of that tour and I was even robbed by the coach driver when I had to be taken back to the coach to lay down until the tour was over.
I have written about it in an old entry: hyper.gif

Agh, shame. Have you been able to go back since and visit what you missed? (or revisit the mangoes and guavas...)

About 2 weeks after I got back from Ghana I got really ill and could barely move for about 3 days. The symptoms were pretty similar to malaria so I thought I had that for a while. After I went for the blood test I realised I'd actually poisoned myself with some out of date yeast whilst baking bread... d'oh, what an idiot!! Scary for a little while though!

Oh no purplebuggy I did not have the chance to go back to that place ever since, but it is surely in my plans.
Mangoes and guavas e? Oh how much I love these exotic fruit!!!

Hi Sian, nice seeing you in the forums. You were lucky in a way, because you got ill when back home and not while in Ghana....it would have been much worse.
I am going to search your entries and read about your trip now......! hug.gif

Note to self - be careful of the yeast that's still in the cupboard!
