Hello, hope you can help. We are a group of 6 going to Antigua, Guatemala in April 9-14, then on to a rented house at the Lake April 14-19.

We need help choosing our hotel.
We have on hold reservations at these two hotels. They are the only two that have room from April 9. Many others can only reserve from the 11th to the 14th
Here are our choices:

1. Candelaria Hotel
2. Casa Capuchinas

We are a group with different tastes and pocketbooks. We would like something comfortable, not to touristy, yet not a Marriott type place. Noone in the group would do the backpacker thing unless they had to.

Thanks for any suggestion, tips or leads.

Hi there,

Why not check out some reviews of these two hotels? Or have you done that and still can't choose?

Candelaria Antigua Hotel_Tripadvisor reviews

Casa Capuchinas-Tripadvisor reviews

The average room rate for the second hotel is from $72.oo is that in the group's budget?

Casa Capuchinas is very small, just five rooms, and as it was actually once a colonial residence, each room is totally different. It is located close to the Parque Central.

Nevertheless, as a group, the Candelaria is probably better bet as all your rooms will be pretty much the same quality. Downside is that it is located about 10 longish blocks from Parque Central.
