I am coming to Greece in late July 2009.
I am booked in at the Sunsail club Vounaki on 2nd August 09 and dont know how to get thire from Athens. The sunsail club resort is in Prevaza (30min taxi transfer to the Club i am told).
My other option is to get a boat from Italy to a sea port near Prevaza if thire is one. I will be coming from france as we are staying in Paris the week before.
Any help would be great.

So you're flying in to Athens then from Paris? If it's a 30 minute taxi ride from Athens is it an option to take that route? Or are you looking for a more affordable way to get there?

no its a 30 min taxi from Prevaza. Prevaza is about 6.5 hours from Athens.

Preveza is a major regional city so there are many ways to get there.
My best suggestion is to contact the Sunsail club Vounaki and ask them about the alternatives.
Remember that is very high season everywhere in Greece--except Athens which will be relatively deserted--so you can't count on available seats on every bus, train or ferry.

Thanks, do you know of the names or web sites for trains or air companies that go from Athens to Preveza.

if you take a boat from Italy DO NOT GO WITH AGOUDIMOS!!! we had a terrible experience , I am not sure what other companies they have to go to Igoumenitza, which is the port I think you will go in Greece... it should be a couple of hours away from Preveza, but from there to Athens, I think it's a pretty long drive, around 6 or 7 hours..

Well my friend,
If you haven't made up your mind as to how to get to Preveza, another ideas is to get reach the airpot, get the airport coach get to Athens, probably spend a night in Athens so that you have the chance to do some sightseeing - it is a must.....
then ask the receptionist to tell you where to get to the bus station and get the coach that will drive you to PREVEZA..
The trip is enjoyable, and in this way you will get the chance to see the countryside.
You are a traveller aren't you??
So enjoy your trip, and I am sure you will like it. Besides it is the cheapest means.
Or probably if you have that much money, and get a taxi to take you up there..... (I am just kidding)
Anyway, I am sure you will find the way up there.
