Hey I've been bouncing around these forums for a while, but my sad sad blogs show that I've done precious little.

I was wondering If anyone else is Putting adventures off for other reasons. What stands in your way? I find it is embarrassing little for myself. Sadly, I am bound to obligations that I do not feel right running away from just yet.

Still, I love interacting in this community. I hope all other delayers will jump into the conversations without feeling the need to get their feet dusty first. You have more to contribute than you think! The world is right here to experience until you can see it with your own eyes!

I want to hear your stories and how you deal with things Where you Already are.

I don't think you have to travel the world or constantly live out of a suitcase to contribute either!

I've travelled some, but feel very inexperienced compared to many here on the forums.

I think you just have to have an adventurous spirit, are willing to try new things, and want to go to new places (even if it's just around the corner).

We all have much to contribute to these forums!

I would love to see more interaction and new people jumping in...the more the merrier!

Keith,

Generally you rise above many with your attitude, and it shines through in your posts. Attitude is everything, whether you're home OR on the road. If (if) I won the lottery (which would never happen cos' I don't believe in it) I'd bang it your way on the premise that you get your ar*e outta dodge..

It sounds like just another matter of "The grass is always greener on the other side." I've also felt, on reading others' experiences, that I'm not all that experienced either. I've never been to India, South America, or Africa. I never traveled all over Europe or even hitchiked across the US. So I feel like a homebody compared to everyone else. But I'm often told to appreciate what I do have. So I talk up all the place I have been & that sets off a lot of interesting conversations. So it's not a matter of where you haven't been but where you have been. Don't let your lack bury what you do have.

I haven't traveled much lately because I've been unemployed for a while. Traveling costs money. But once I get a job & build up sufficient funds, I'm off to somewhere, anywhere.

Both of these are so true - you just need to make the most of your life. Life is beautiful and adventure can be found wherever you are.

For me, nothing stands in my way - its all about choices and I choose to stay here with John.

We travel and experience new things regularly though and thats a joy.

Something that came to me as I was driving up the motorway yesterday...

All around me all there was blue skies, beautiful countryside, the sun shining... and for all the times I think I hate this country, there are as many times that I think I love it, but they're just less accessible when I'm in the middle of complaining about it!

So among other things - mainly that I have a lot that I want to achieve here, now - I think that the absolute worst thing to feel about a place, or anything really, is apathy. And the day I feel indifferent about where I live, or what I do, is what will definitely push me to move on. Otherwise its effectively just living without being alive, no?

I wouldn't be embarrassed about anything though. Ultimately, no-one can tell you what you feel is wrong, you just have to stick with your instincts... you seem pretty wise to me, I think they'll look after you!

What kind of obligations?

LOL, thanks. I don't really FEEL like "super traveler lady" compared to many here. I've never gone anywhere exotic, and there are SOOOO many places I still want to go. But that's the thing, I guess. No matter how much you have traveled...you can learn from others here!
