Hi, I'm leaving on the 1st of March, of on my travels for 15 months. I'm currently looking at the best way to travel with and access my money without being ripped off... anyone got any suggestions based on there own experience.

Many Thanks

For me, I find it easiest to spread my sources around. In most of the places you are going an ATM should be fine (in the cities at least). I use credit cards whenever I can if it doesn't cost me anything extra so I don't have to withdrawal money as often. My bank charges $5 per international withdrawal so I take out as much as I can without being paranoid about having it lost or stolen, but in SEA that money can last quite awhile! And $5 isn't too bad for a penalty if you aren't doing it too often. I would see what your bank can offer you. I personally don't use traveller's cheques but in the countries you are going (except SEA and India, probably) they would be quite easy to change whenver you need to.

Sounds like a great trip, have fun! Looking forward to reading your blog smile.gif

Thanks for the information, I'm thinking of credit cards and then just transferring the balance, seems the best way.

Thanks again
