One of the many islands in the Maldives, a popular island for both new and repeat islands. It is a larger than average island, however, still very much has a Maldivian feel.
The island over recent years has been updated, with lots new water villas, beach villas and jacuzzi based rooms.
There are 2 transfer options - speedboat and seaplane. The boat takes about an hour and the seaplane about 20 minutes. Both have advantages; Seaplane generally has a supplement.
The island offers an array of different activities, golf range, water based activities, football, tennis, volleyball ect. The Spa is a must, - very enjoyable and offers a huge selection of treatments. From full body massage, manicures, pedicures. If you are in the jacuzzi water villas you can have a treatment in one of the new spa treatment rooms over the water. The atmosphere, music, oils, all add to the fantastic treatments. The excursions are managed by the island, and are booked with guest relations. The love boat trip, which is a full day out on a gullet is great - fab snorkelling, swimming, food and great for the sun tan also.
There are 2 board basis available - Full Board and All Inclusive.
Full Board - includes 3 meals a day, but no drinks and the A la Carte restaurants are payable.
All Inclusive - includes 3 meals a day, snacks, drinks. The all inclusive package on this island does not include cocktails, and there is a limited selection of drinks available. The all inclusive package is different to that of what is available say in the Caribbean.
You can visit Meeru and 'twin' this with another island in the Maldives for a double delight experience, or alternatively both Dubai and Sri Lanka are both popular twin centre options. It all depends on the island you are travelling with.
