Well, 'tis the season for fun, that's for sure! We've definitely got plenty of lists on the best festivals around, but what are some of the best winter festivals around?

Definitely Winter Solstice, also known as Dong zhi in China and Yule in Germany.

There's the Fur Rendezvous in Anchorage, Alaska where they have dog sled races, snow sculptures and snowshoe football (that might not be too easy!)

Carnaval de Quebec in Quebec City, Canada is always a good one.

In Scotland the Fort William Mountain Festival in Febrauary is meant be incredible.

And one I've always wanted to go to; The International Hot Air Balloon Meeting in the Swiss Alps.

Anyone have any others to add to the list?

Are you a winter person wakingdream?
During the summer I wish it was winter and then during the winter I wish it was summer! :/

I can be. If there's something fun to do, I'm in. All it takes is some warm gear and you can stop thinking about how cold you are! I definitely like winter festivals!

I loved Carnaval!

Winterlude is pretty good in Ottawa. There are usually some really good free concerts set up on top of the frozen canal. You can dance to the music on your skates!
