We're newbie tango dancers who are trying to pick a place to stay In Buenos Aries. We want to take tango classes but we're not going to BA just to tango. We plan to sight see and travel around the country as well during our one month stay.
We are very experenced travellers (this will be my 64th country). We want an areaof the city that will be good (pleasant and safe) to walk in day or night. We're also concerned with how difficult it might be to go across the city because of the traffic.
Many people recommend Palermo as a nice rea but on the map it looks like it is in a corner of the city and we are concerned that this is a long distance for taxi rides in traffic during the day or late at night.
We are familiar with both Mexico City and Bangkok and know what a nightmare it can be crossing town in a big city.
We are also undecided about a hotel vs a boutique hotel for our first days. Later we can rent a short term apartment or move to a tango hotel if it seems right.
What and where do you advise and why?
Thanks for your imput in advance.
