Hello. I am planning a Europe trip for May. I expect to be in Gimmelwald area around mid May (16th give or take) and wonder if the odds are good the weather will allow a bit of hiking. And, if the weather isn't good, is it still worth an overnight in the area? Many thanks for any advice.

Hi bethers, You have a good chance of nice hiking weather in May in Switzerland. In higher elevation it will still be a bit on the cool side but mostly sunny and enjoyable. You can always use the cable car if the weather is too crappy for a hike. As long as the sky isn't too overcast it will be worth the view.
