Nominate me as a Local Expert

Flying into Vegas from the UK, and have a 20+ hour lay over. My g/f and I would like to leave the Las Vegas airport to get a hotel and do some shopping for the night. My question is, since we are "in transit" are we allowed to leave the airport and head into Vegas before our flight home to Canada?

I've tried to call and email our Orbitz travel agent but no luck. I hope to get some good input from the travelers on here.

Keep in mind that a British citizen (and most Europeans also) do not need a visa to visit the USA. You will however, need the green visa waiver card Form I-94W. If you travel after the 12th January, you will need to preregister if you plan to enter the USA. Access this website:

If you are Canadian, you won't need a visa waiver:

Nevertheless I suggest you contact your airline to make sure there are not any quirks in the system for Canadians arriving from Europe.

And keep clear of the casinos!
