Well, I have been in Egypt for NYE and now I am in Jordan, so we can not take these as "resolutions", I'd say. My plans for this year, so far: - Israel in April (join the "Walk about love" there) - End of April go to London - hitch from the UK through France, Belgium, Germany to Vienna - go to Turkey - visit Syria - from there, cross through Iran and Pakistan to India - go to the Philippines for some volunteer work That should keep me busy for the year! But who keeps all his resolutions anyway? So maybe I will change plans - most likely I will... Andy

QUOTE(_tz_ @ Feb 22 2009, 08:23 AM) - Israel in April (join the "Walk about love" there) - End of April go to London - hitch from the UK through France, Belgium, Germany to Vienna - go to Turkey - visit Syria Andy, I've heard this before, and I'm not exactly sure if it still applies, but if you have an Israeli stamp in your passport, Syria, will not let you into the country. You might want to check up on that.... Does anyone else know if that applies??

Currently traveling the world on the company's dime...it's the cheapest way to go!!! Quote from my friend Chuck, who spent 5 months riding his bicycle all the way around the USA - "Nobody says you have to order an entree in the restaurant of life, you'll only be here once! Order the sampler, try as many as you can before you're full; odds are one (of) the items on this menu does more for you than you ever thought. And if I'm wrong, tell the waiter that his menu sucks, throw the cook aside and invent your own masterpiece. Just pour 'em all in, all your favorite ingredients. With enough imagination, any combination will work -- there are no recipes for the paths still awaiting discovery." But - you can't know, of course - my passport is going to expire, so while I am in Europe I will get a new, clean one, so there should be no problem...

I'm actually planning to get a duplicate passport in the next month or so. Then I won't have to worry about it either. But I need it more for work at the moment...gotta get visas for one job while I'm traveling in another country. I haven't looked it up (not planning to go to the Middle East this year), but does that same rule apply for other countries in the Middle East? Say...Saudi Arabia, Yemen, etc, won't let you in if you've got an Israeli stamp?

That is true, only Egypt and Jordan don't mind if you have been visiting Israel before. Which means, not only an Israeli stamp is bad, but also any stamp from a land border crossing to those countries... Never understood the point of it, since there are so many easy ways of getting around this, but if it makes them happy? As for Saudi, if you do not work there or are a Moslem visiting Mecca, the only thing you can get is a 3-day transit visa anyways. (If you got any questions 'bout traveling down here, let me know, most likely I can help you )Andy
