I met George Takei ('Sulu' on 'Star Trek') during Asian Awareness Week at Monterey Peninsula College, April 1984. I took a copy of the public notice for all Japanese-Americans to report to internment camps during WWII & asked him to autograph it for my sister. (She's the huge 'Star Trek' fan in the family.)

Me and John met Cameron Diaz in Peru.

We were standing outside our room in the grounds of our hotel, taking a photograph - she walked past and spoke to us.

Not much - all she said was:

How you guys doing today?

You can read about it here if you want to:

We'd seen her up at Machu Picchu the day before as well.

Machine Head

Got outrageously drunk with Robb and Adam after they DJ'd at Club Kerrang! many moons ago - top guy. Then whey they did their "secret" Ten Ton Hammer gig at the Highbury Garage, the entire audience went on clubbing with them - bare in mind the audience was no more than 150 people! Great days.

Most famous person I've met?

Prince Charles. I've met him a few times - he used to come and inspect the Army Barracks and Police Headquarters in my home town. Nothing more than "hello, what do you do then?" type thing.

Vic Reeves used to drink in my local (it's not local though, really - it's 6 miles away down the country lanes).

Most famous person I know/knew?

Before I went to Uni I was mad keen on music, and got quite involved with various bits and bobs - mainly street teams and local gigs, so I met quite a few bands that toured through my neck of the woods. I can think of maybe a handful that *may* be known outside of the UK though. I actually shared quite a few drunken nights with some top bands, known only really in the UK - The Wildhearts, Feeder, Ash and Terrorvision are the ones I think people may know. Or they should, they are ace!

I also went to dinner with the Lost Prophets, on their first ever full UK tour, when they supported Kill2This. They were top guys. I used to do their street team, so I've got tons of really rare goodies from them - destined for eBay as soon as they are superstars! Then they got big, signed to a major and went straight off my radar.

The most famous was probably Elton John coming in to eat at the same Thai restaurant I was eating at in south Florida over 20 years ago.

I met Jeff Goldblum while walking the old city of Jerusalem. He was very friendly.

pics of other celberities I've met

I'm afraid I'm not too good at celebs. It seems that entertainment and sports celebrities are the centre of our lives these days. I guess Britney Spears and Cindy Lohan are now more significent personages than kings, presidents and generals. On the other hand, maybe that's for the best. They can certainly do much less harm than George W. Bush.

Yes, when we saw her at Machu Picchu she was being followed around by a film crew for the doco. When she passed us in the hotel grounds the next day, she just had one security guard with her.
