Rolling Stone Group: Local Expert Posts: 14509 Joined: 5-November 07 From: Ottawa, Ontario, Canada Member No.: 103914	Walking around in Montreal this weekend was pretty cold. But not the coldest I've ever felt. That has to be, hands down, Quebec City in February. I was playing football a few winters ago - I wore so many clothes that it was hard to move which didn't help. I just remember standing on the pitch and crying and cracking up because I couldn't cope... it was like one of those moments when I just didn't want to be in this world anymore. And the rethawing of my hands was even worse.

One temperature reading I can remember was -18F. Other freezing hells I've been in were Calgary & Ottawa in Winter. Seattle has nothing on them. -------------------- All the earth is my home and each nation a different room in the same house.

It is interesting that the same value in Fahrenheit. It was very pleasure and worm when the temperature increased to -10 C.

It was January, I was 3/4 of the way up Mount Blanc in France, and even with heavy duty snowboard clothes on (including face mask!) I was frozen. It was 90% because of the wind chill, and the gales we experienced! The snot from my nose actually froze over by the end of the run. -------------------- Thailand, Laos and Cambodia 2010

I have no idea what the temp with wind chill was but it was cold! Prague was -17C with wind chill which was horrible. It hurt to breathe! I think the 2 hours I spent on top of Mt Kinabalu waiting for the sunrise would have to rank very high too. My circulation is terrible and I could hardly press the buttons on my camera even though I was wearing 2 pairs of gloves!! -------------------- My Travelogue Rich
