Hi everyone,

I'm going to a wedding in Casablanca this fall and was thinking of maybe traveling around the country little bit, after the wedding. I am a 28 yr old female and will be traveling alone. Does anyone have any insight/tips as to whether it's a safe idea to travel alone as a female and/or whether anyone has any tips for precautions that I should take? I welcome anecdotes too!

Thanks in advance for the help!

Hey There!

Here's a safety advisory from tripadvisor. Take look-see. Hopefully that helps a bit smile.gif

Casablanca Health & Safety

I've traveled quite a bit independently. I think sticking to common safe practices is the best bet. Keep your things with you at all times, don't go out at night alone, etc. Knowing about local scams and rip-offs helps too.

Read a few travel advisories but don't let that scare you off. I find they tend to be quite alarmist, depending on the publication. There are safety issues all over the world, including all over North America where many deem it to be very "safe".

Search the Travelpod blogs too. I'm sure you'll find plenty of women travelers who have explored the same places you're about to. And feel free to contact them too and ask some questions. Mostly Travelpodders are very friendly and willing to share their experiences and answer questions.

Totally agree with this - it is all about being aware and trusting your instincts.

I am sure you will have a great time!
