Auckland, the City of Sails.
This main city of New Zealand is nestled between the beautiful Haurkai Gulf on its eastern Flank and the Waitemata Harbour on the western front.
This city of over 1million has everything that a traveller could want, from adventure sport like the Skytower Fall or the World Famous Harbour Bridge BungyJump. There is a large selection of places to stay while here, be it at the Backpackers budget such as the HI Hostel located on Turner Street or at the top of Queensstreet. Or on a more flexible budget there is the Formule 1 Hotel located on Wyndham Street which is a well recommended place to stay.
There are many things to do and see, be it the history found at the Auckland War Memorial Museum, Maritime Museum or even the simple walk around Parnell to take in the historic buildings. There are alot of walks around the Auckland Region, catch a ferry out to Rangitoto Island and spend the day climbing to the crater of Auckland's largest Dorment Volcano.
Shopping can be had on Queens Street, High Street for the more upmarket labels and on many of the side streets around Auckland City.
Transport is easy to find, and Auckland CBD is so centralised it is much easier to get out and pound the pavement.
