Hi, I just joined up to ask a question.

I am in Australia, and I have been travelling in Thailand for a little over 3 weeks. I returned to Aus this am.

3 Days before I left Thailand, I had a very painful throat and problems sleeping, and swallowing. I got hold of some sleeping tablets and the problem seemed to shift.

While on the plane, I started to feel un-well.

Since I have returned home, my itchy throat has returned, with a dry painfull cough, an inability to sleep (it is 2.26am) and a runny nose like I have never experienced.

I have looked through a few sites and they all say to contact your doctor, but he is not open until 8am.

Any advice please people?

Welcome to the forums, ppg01.

That's very strange. All I can say is drink lots of water until your doctor's office is open in the morning.

I hope you're OK, it sounds like a regular cold or throat infection to me though. (I have no medical training whatsoever, though)

Though I'm no doctor either, itchy throat to me sounds like an allergy to something. if you feel like it's an emergency, then head to your local clinic, if not, yeah, wait for your doctor's office to open. Hope you feel better.
