So I'm reasonably sure that November is not exactly the most popular time to travel to France which is why I recommend it. The only down side I can think of is the unstable weather in the north. Therefore to be more precise, I suggest the south of France as a travel destination. I found a nice page outlining all the reasons to visit at about.com
What it doesnt mention is that November is truffle season in a few regions in the south such as Dordogne, Gard and Provence. As they are a deluxe product, I'm not suggesting that you buy truffles (very expensive) but it is possible to go truffle hunting with local outfitters and their pigs/dogs for an authentic rural experience in France. Its also possible just to enjoy a truffle meal in a local restaurant in the regions mentioned above.

How much would a typical truffle meal cost? I'd splurge just to say I did it...

Anywhere between 40 to 80 euros. There's a small town in Provence called Carpentras where a good truffle meal is not too expensive.

Sounds good to me. I suspect you've already had some?
