Welcome to the forums Ejaz!

It's not very rainy in Bangkok at that time, so it should be nice for you. http://www.wordtravels.com/Cities/Thailand/Bangkok/Climate

I don't think there is a time you can go to Bangkok and it WON'T be busy.

I'll move the topic to the Thailand forum, so you'll get more answers.

Is it a good idea to visit bangkok on such a bizzy time.

Well, anywhere you travel to around that time will be busy so why not experience Thailand then? It will be busy, yes, so be sure to make some arrangements ahead of time depending on what you're planning on doing. What are your plans? Will you only be in Bangkok or are you planning on visiting some other areas of Thailand?

I was in Thailand a couple of years ago for all of December and a bit of January and had very little trouble looking for accomodation. I was staying in the cheapest fleapits I could find though.

Yup, January is quite hot with little to no rain. The food? Excellent! You can find all kinds of food all around the country. Thai food is the best in my opinion!
