MA starter kit, FAQ

The Draw
The lush green on the steep hills overlooking the ocean
The pristine beaches, especially the ones inside the park

To Be Seen and Done

The national park tour with a tour guide, you will see a lot more and will learn about the change of the impact of turist industry and behavior of diferent animals
The Canopy Tour, take it with Titi Canopy or Canopy Safari: If you are not scared of heights, definitively take this tour! They both have safe platforms even if they shake a lot. Speed depends on your weight

Lodging for the VIP
Hotels: La Mansion Hotel, Makanda by the Sea, Parador Hotel, Gaia Hotel & Reserve.

Don’t miss
In Quepos:
 Escalofrio for good Italian food, Pizzas and Gelati.
 Gran Escape – Best Seafood, good desserts.
 Dos Locos: Mexican food - live music usually on Wednesdays and Fridays, good for people watching.
Less touristy, more local: Soda Sanchez for real tico meals, Soda La Cubanita for the best seafood soup.

In Manuel Antonio
Cafe Agua Azul: For good views at lunch time.
Gato Negro – Italian cuisine
Restaurants to go see a Costa Rican sunset?
Barba Roja, Salsipuedes, Mar Luna and Ronny's Place, El Avion (some love it, some simply do not like it)

When to Go
The dry season lasts from November to April. Visits throughout the rest of the year will feature spectacular tropical downfalls.

Best Places for a wedding ceremony?
Escape Villas (www.villascostarica.com)
Tulemar,
Makanda by the Sea

What about the monkeys, where do you see them in Manuel Antonio?
You will see monkeys almost every time, on the road from Quepos to Manuel Antonio, at the beaches inside or outside the National Park

And Taxis?
You can pretty much easily take a taxi if you are in downtown Quepos.

If you are staying in Manuel Antonio, have your Hotel get you one!

Buses:
If you are by yourself buses can be the cheapest public transportation you can use.
They run every 15 mins and the drive from Quepos to Manuel Antonio is about 15 min.

Shopping:
You want to buy….
If you are looking for artesania – local craftwork and souvenirs– go to downtown Quepos or to the main beach Espadilla.

Dress code:

Shorts, shirts, jeans, slippers … it is too hot!

Internet and Phones: Most Hotels offer this service. There are a few internet cafes in Quepos and Manuel Antonio. You will notice that the internet connection is slower of course. Now if you want to make international calls, you can request a call from your Hotel or buy a prepaid card at any supermarket or pharmacy for about $10 or $20.

The rest ... just email me with any questions please. I will get back to you with more useful information soon!
