If you love to ice skate and are looking for an place to skate outdoors, Lake Morey in Vermont is the place! Once the ice is solid enough for skating, they maintain a 4.5 mile loop around the entirety of the lake. I went in January and the ice was amazing and it was thrilling to just skate, skate, skate. The drives though this region of Vermont, the Upper Valley of the Connecticut River, are breathtaking and you'll enjoy a winter respite here. It's weird to think about winter sports in the middle of the summer, but add a reminder in your calendar now to check out this fun activity and quintessential New England get-away spot this winter.
