I`m going to talk about Corcovado National Park
You can get to Corcovado National Park via Puerto Jimenez or by Sierpe, or arrive to Drake Bay. These two towns are the main entrances to the park.
Exotic and lush, Corcovado National Park is home to 30 major ecosystems that range from mangrove swaps and jolillo palm groves to montane forests, lagoons, beaches, freshwater herbaceous swamps and primary lowland rainforest. Encompassing over 41,000 h the park protects over 140 different mammals, 400 bird species, 20 of which are endemic; 116 amphibian and reptile species, 40 species of fish and at least 500 species of trees. Habitat of the rare Harbor squirrel monkey and the harpy eagle, Corcovado Park also is a great place to spot the poison arrow frog, wild cats, crocodiles, pumas and jaguars as well as four species of see turtles. STARTING from Drake Bay you can take a boat to Caņo Island, excellent for snorkeling and diving. Return from Corcovado, you should explore Valle del Silencio and Sabanas Esperanza in La Amistad International Park.
This trip is perfect for those who want to go away from the tradicional routes and want to enjoy the real nature untouched by men, approaching a life style very different from the urban one. The southern route is your rural destination in Costa Rica.
