HOW CAN WE TRAVEL IN BETWEEN THE CARRIBEAN ISLANDS ?
I am trying to get from the Carribean, the ideal would be Barbados or St Lucia maybe to Mexico or if not to Venezuela. Are there any boats ? or any cheap flights within the Carribean islands ?

I tried to answer this a little while ago:

When I flew in between the Caribbean Islands, I used Winair. (I went from St. Martin to Saba) it wasn't that much more than a ferry, and it was very interesting, I got to climb aboard a really small plane and go with the locals. Most locals fly between places, rather than taking a ferry.

I went from St. Martin to Anguilla on a ferry. That was really fun too. Not very far, the boat was tiny and the sea was quite rough! It was really cheap.

If I know exactly where you are leaving from, I could help you some more.

I just did a quick search from Barbados to Monterrey, and the flight will cost you at LEAST $1,110 on Expedia.

Travelling between islands in the Caribbean is quite an expensive proposition. As Starlagurl found, the fare from Monterrey to Barbados came out to over US$ 1,000. Incredibly locals don't travel much between the islands. They are more likely to travel to Miami. This being said, if you have no fixed timetable there are often cargo boats plying between the islands, and you can usually hitch a ride for a low price. This, obviously, has to be done locally.

Failing that, LIAT and Caribbean Airlines are probably the most prolific airlines in the islands.

There is a ferry between Trinidad and Venezuela. There are no ferries from Mexico to the islands.

i've heard there is a regular cargo boat that can accomodate a couple of passengers from Kingston, Jamaica to Trujillo, Honduras.. it's a great handy route..

I will head down the docks one day and see if i can clarify how regular it is..
