Taking a cue from Jacques, we want to find the best beer in the world.

(This might have been a topic before, but I can't find it now. So humour me)

I vote for Steamwhistle. Brewed in Toronto.

Beer Lao. Supped a good few (hundred) in the 2 weeks I was there and enjoyed every mouthful.

Can't beat Czech beer though!

Big fan of Beer Lao and I love Alexander Keiths (Nova Scotian Beer)

and I like the James Squire Pale Ale (Australian Beer).

However, who could pass up sampling a Victorian PISS Weak beer (and I am not talking about VB)

Mine is Hammerhead Ale, which I can't find anywhere outside of Portland, Oregon.

Well I'd say it's pretty impossible to name but one.

I'll name 3:

Chang from Thailand (personal reasons)
Budvar Czech Republic- totally awesome anywhere in world, However on draft in Prague Pilsner Urquell is better but doesn't travel well.
Samuel Adams, Boston USA- an excellent darker beer even manages to kick Leffe's ass

I'm opening a beer bar shortly and it will feature 50+ beers, so anymore suggestions will be appreciated.

BTW only chance i've had to try beer Lao I wasn't impressed- however it wasn't in Laos so I reserve judgment until I try iy in it's true environment.

Everest Beer from Nepal. Partly for the fond memories I've had over it, partly for the taste, partly for the price :-p

I've tried all of the big SE Asian brews, a good chunk of the USA's, and some of Europe's... Nothing could beat Everest for beer-thirst-quenching powers.

Bintang, Boddington, and Alaskan are other favs. :-) Beer Lao was smooth but too watered down for my wheaty tastes.

Definitely Czech beer. Especially Czech dark beers which are sweet instead of bitter like German dark beers.

After that, I love Radlers, which is a mixture of light beer and lemonade or lemon soda that you'll find in Bavaria.

I think this is the link to the semi original Beers of the World Thread.

I have to say "Speights Ale" in New Zealand, a clean and refreshing beer.
