Reykjavik may have been the coolest place I've ever been, but there is still something about coming back home after an amazing trip that is, in and of itself, just as amazing. A great story cannot be told if you don't return to tell it, to show the pictures, to give the gifts you've bought people. Half the fun of traveling is helping people who were unable to go enjoy it too! Plus I don't know about anyone else, but I've been in some pretty awesome beds, yet not one adds up to being snuggled up with my wife in my bed at home.

Out of all the places I've been my favorite place is probably San Diego, California. I love it there. I'd live there if I could. It has the perfect temperatures and so much to see and do. It's just beautiful. I love the architecture, the plants and trees, the beaches, the food.

I also really like Park City, Utah, and would love to live there. It's a beautiful, green valley, charming city.

My ultimate dream is to have a summer house in Park City and a winter house in San Diego.

Based on the previous post, I should be really glad I live in Portland. It is a nice place (especially in summer).
But my thoughts are always of the life, culture, architecture and history of Europe. I think foremost I'd go with Spain, as they really know how to celebrate life.
Also have a soft spot for Africa, Laos, Argentina, Turkey........

p.s. - for those that love Yosemite, you really should check out the Canadian Rockies. maybe even more spectacular...

Recently returning from some much needed time in northern Ontario, I've come to realize it is definitely one of my top favourite places. So peaceful. So beautiful. Spending time just being up there is unbelievably cathartic. The stars are incredible No phones. No traffic. Hardly any lights. Fires at night. The call of the loons. The simple, serene life. Totally uncomplicated by anything.

Haven't been to a particularly wide range of countries so far - most of my travelling is between the UK and Barbados sad.gif But my 3 absolute favourite countries in order would be the UAE, Costa Rica and Singapore. Been dying to go back to CR and Central America on a whole ever since I went in April, it's absolutely beautiful. I was awestruck by all the mountains. Also, Dubai and Singapore are just such wonderful cities given their beginnings [desert and random offshoot of Malaysia]. smile.gif

Out of all the places I've been I have to say Iceland. There is just something about that country.

Also love the plains of Mongolia!

The title of best city is a competition between Beijing and New York.

I'd love to! Have been wanting to jump back into it but I just have so little time these days. I'm going to try anyway! smile.gif I had some serious revelations while away. It was exactly what I needed after this long yet extremely beautiful first year as a momma.
