AHHH THE FIRST CLASS SLEEPER IS CRAWLING WITH COCROACHES!

It was 12 hours of creepy hell for me and my husband. Thank God our baby fell asleep so we could protect her all night.

I heard the train gives you a real experience of Thailand... SO bring the RAID!!

If this place wasnt so AMAZING it would be hard to forget. I think I found paradise on earth smile.gif Always got to pay a little hell sometimes smile.gif

BUT for the return I booked Asia Air... Any suprises I should know about?

Thanks!

I board the same train in three hours (not first class) so maybe mine will have rats as well as cockroaches?

A little surprising......I have traveled on the overnight train up North and even down the Surit Thani Southbound too and found no problems like that on the train and believe me if I had seen a cockroach I would have been having screaming and freaking out.....because I have a real phobia with them!!

I've taken the first class sleeper from chiang mai to bangkok, bangkok to chiang mai, and bangkok to surithani at least 10 times. I have not once seen a cockroach. I don't know maybe you just had bad luck. While were on the topic of trains, the Thai gov't has now made 3rd class free anywhere in Thailand , so if you think you can handle it or just looking for a free ride, go for it!

Cheers for the info, that's good news.

My train was fine incidentally - dropped a couple of Changs and slept like a baby, just like the Surat Thani to Bangkok, a great way to travel..

I have been on the train countless times - mainly second class although once I had to go first class as second class was full. Second class is much more comfortable.

Never had a problem. Have I ever seen a cockroach on the train? I can't remember as it seems hardly important. But I think mainly there aren't many.

I'd rather a cockroach than a screaming passenger Raniroo - so please don't do that.

It is a phobia that I am trying to overcome....!!! even talking about them makes my skin crawl and i get agitated.... (yet I can eat a cricket, grasshopper or bamboo worm!)
